Making the Most of Students as Fundraising Ambassadors

It can be hard to know what your alumni care about, and what they might be willing to support philanthropically. So, why not let your students help you out? Whether it be for annual giving, or for major gifts, you can create content that allows your students to act as ambassadors to build pipeline and help you reach your fundraising goals! Dan will also be covering how RIT leveraged student groups to transform corporate donors into major gift partners and worked with these student groups to increase the ask and build stronger relationships with donors.

Phil got his start in sports radio before moving into the live streaming space back when most of the audience didn’t have a smartphone. After working in higher education, Phil and Tyler launched 5 Tool. When he’s not creating videos, Phil’s hanging out with his wife and daughter, or entertaining his two crazy cattle dogs.

Dan is the Associate Director of Advancement for the engineering colleges at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). With a background in higher education and corporate fundraising, he champions underrepresented voices and fosters active partnerships to engage donors. Dan can be found outside of work playing with his Golden Retriever Teddy, taking hikes, or exploring new cities.
