At 5 Tool Productions, we believe the most successful events aren’t just technically sound. They create space for meaningful conversations, genuine connections, and ideas that move an industry forward. That belief is exactly why our partnerships with organizations working toward positive change feel like such a natural fit.
The Woodwell Climate Research Center’s ‘Climate Conversations’ events are designed to bring industry-leading minds together to share research, spark collaboration, and advance the mission of building a greener, healthier planet. Our role is to make sure the production of these events never gets in the way of that mission and instead actively supports it.

Climate Conversations are typically done in a panel format with live Q&A being available to in-person attendees, to discuss pressing topics in the climate research industry. These conversations bring together researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators, each with different expectations and technical needs. These events must work seamlessly across in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats to create an environment where experts feel comfortable sharing ideas, building real connections, and engaging in meaningful conversations. Just as importantly, each event must reflect Woodwell’s credibility while capturing content that extends those conversations well beyond the day itself. To make that possible, Woodwell needed a production partner who could manage complexity without adding friction.

We provide A/V production for each event, supporting live, virtual, and hybrid audiences while keeping the focus on the content. Thus, allowing the WCRC to not worry about the technical aspects.
Our goal is to make sure everything looks and sounds great for everyone, whether they are in the room or tuning in remotely.
We are dedicated to capturing quality content so that the conversations can live on well past the initial event.
At 5 Tool, we want virtual attendees to feel just as included and engaged as those who physically attended the meeting. By handling the technical aspects, we allow speakers to focus on sharing their expertise and allow attendees to focus solely on the content being presented.
Once the event begins, our team becomes the connective link between speakers, organizers, and virtual platforms. We constantly think about how every element works together. From what the audience sees, hears, and experiences both in the room and online. Speakers need to feel supported and confident. Attendees want to stay engaged without distractions. Organizers want the assurance that everything is running smoothly. Our job is to balance all of that while preserving the thoughtful, mission driven tone these climate events demand. We’re not just operating equipment; we’re protecting the experience.
We record every event with future use in mind so the conversations don’t end when the day does. Organizations can repurpose the content across video platforms, podcasts, and a wide range of educational resources, extending the impact far beyond the live event. What begins as a single gathering becomes a long term content library that continues to support climate education and awareness.

At events like Woodwell’s, the right equipment plays a critical role in delivering a seamless production. We always choose our gear based on the event environment, especially the physical space available. For Woodwell’s indoor Climate Conversations, that production footprint is often extremely limited.
To adapt, we use robotic cameras that allow us to control multiple angles remotely from separate locations. By doing so, we deliver the visual coverage of a traditionally crewed, multi-camera production without placing several operators behind tripods. The result is a compact, discreet footprint that minimizes visual clutter and keeps the audience focused on the conversation rather than the production. This configuration is significantly smaller than a standard multi-camera setup, allowing us to stay flexible and effective even in tight spaces.
Woodwell trusts us because we understand what’s at stake. These events go beyond production. They advance ideas, foster collaboration, and support a mission that matters. By acting as partners, we ensure the production reinforces their message, supports the people involved, and amplifies the impact each event aims to create.
5 Tool’s work with Woodwell is rooted in a shared belief that meaningful conversation deserves a thought out, unobtrusive production. By combining state of the art technology and a team with a deep understanding of live, virtual, and hybrid events, we’re able to support complex events without adding friction or distraction. Our role is to protect the experience for both the audience and speakers while ensuring these conversations continue to reach audiences long after the event ends. When event production is done right, it is as if we weren’t even there. Thus allowing ideas, people, and purpose to take center stage.
