Plenty of people approach social media with the express purpose of growing a business.  That wasn’t the exact path for Holly Nichols when she first shared her illustration work with the world on Instagram.

At first, art was a hobby for Holly, not a job.  She’d spend her free time sketching, but she found other ways to make ends meet.  But once she started posting her work online, everything changed and her following grew very quickly.

Now Holly has more than 730,000 followers on Instagram – many of whom are customers, buying her prints online.  Instagram has also helped Holly grow her business to connect with more corporate clients, and build her business with companies as well as individuals.

Holly’s story is an inspiration to anyone with a side project and dreams of taking it full-time.  We hope you enjoy hearing it as much as we did!

  1. Should I hire a professional fashion illustration agency or freelance fashion illustrator?
I am very confused in making the decision about hiring either the professional fashion illustration agency or freelance fashion illustrator. There is a very important project coming up and I want the high quality fashion design illustration for it. I do not want the quality of the illustrations to get compromised at any point. Also, I do not have a very hefty budget so it might be a problem for me to spend a lot of money on the services. I have no idea what to do at this point. It will be a great help if anyone could suggest me what I should at this point. I will be so thankful to you.
