Creating content for the social ecosystem in 2018 is a tall task.  It seems like every single social media platform has a dedicated video player.  Because of the dedicated specs across channels, video production for social media is more complicated than ever.  This week, Vimeo tried to ease that pain a bit, adding more sharing functionality to its back-end.

The latest integration support is for LinkedIn, specifically company pages.  As Vimeo points out on their blog, scoring an integration with LinkedIn is no small win.

“This marks LinkedIn’s first end-to-end integration with a video platform. And, with the world’s largest professional network now included in your video distribution arsenal, your audience just grew by 562 million business-minded people. Vimeo now provides the widest publish to social distribution for your videos — Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.”

It may seem odd to you that a video hosting platform is making it easy to distribute your content from their back-end to other sites – YouTube included – but it’s actually in line with some of their recent moves.

We talked recently about Vimeo’s strategy to support creators end-to-end.  This is the latest example of Vimeo putting the creator first, and trying to make the process as seamless as possible.

Add to this tools like advanced review pages, Vimeo Stock, and the integration with Adobe Premiere, and you’re looking at a really robust tool.
